Wow, it’s like I just dropped off the face of the earth or something. Things have been busy, busy, busy here, and up until this afternoon I was spending every spare minute I could find working on a big essay for school. It’s almost the entire grade for the class, so I needed to put a lot of work into it. It was due at three this afternoon, and I was up until six this morning getting it finished. Luckily, we’d planned ahead and had Olof schedule today off work so I could have some uninterrupted study time. After staying up all night writing, I slept pretty much all day, only getting up at noon for a quick proofread before sending off the paper. That done, I ate some lunch then went back to bed and slept again until dinner.
In other news, I had to take Lucy to the vet yesterday. That poor dog. Saturday evening I was sitting on the couch with Lucy on one side of me and Yrsa on my lap. For reasons unknown, Yrsa suddenly leaned over and jabbed her finger right into Lucy’s eye. Right away we could tell that she was hurt, though it didn’t look too serious. Over the course of Sunday, however, it started looking worse and worse so I got in touch with the vet and arranged to take her in.
The verdict is a that she has a small sore on her eye, and we were given two kinds of eyedrops to treat it with. We’ll go back on Friday to see how it’s coming along, but I don’t foresee any real problems. It doesn’t look so great, and I’m sure it doesn’t feel good, but she seems fine apart from that.
In a similar vein, Yrsa’s burn is healing up perfectly. In another week I doubt you’ll be able to see that it ever happened (thank goodness). We were so lucky that it wasn’t worse and that it didn’t cause more distress for any of us. Other than right after it happened, I don’t think Yrsa was much bothered at all. The worst part was undoubtedly taking off the bandages.
Otherwise, things are just moving along here. We’re still getting along with our houseguests, and Tage is really enjoying having a “big brother”. The dogs are having fun with their new pack-mate, but it must be said that the cats are not big fans. I’ve started plying Moa with soft food and liver paste, in an attempt to stay on her good side. That’s one cat you don’t want to get on the wrong side of.
Lol, I’m glad to hear we’re still getting along! And then I just thought, “Shit, if we weren’t…would she fucking post it on her blog?!?!?!” I’m cool with that. 😀
Your cats are so invisible I often forget you have them. I would feel sorry for Moa except she looks like she’d eat my dog. Or anyone else that got in her way. Love you, you’re the best! xx
