- Some months ago, having run out of dishwasher tablets, I took a chance with about a half-teaspoon of regular liquid dish soap, covered liberally with table salt to prevent over-sudsing, and it worked a treat. I’ve used nothing else since, and have already saved a small fortune.
- The other night in the almost-dark, I saw a pair of bats flying around over our garage. It was the first time I’d seen bats in Sweden. I hope I see them again.
- It’s Olof’s name day today, and I’m going to make a banana cake to mark the occasion. The kids are lobbying hard for cupcakes, but I’ve got over-ripe bananas on the counter, so banana cake it will be.
- Lydia started her summer job today — her first-ever “real” work experience. Already she’s complaining about taxes. (But also very much looking forward to a paycheck that she earned herself!)
