Quality time

I packed up my menfolk this morning and sent them off to parts southward.  They’re taking a little father-son trip and will be spending four days in Stockholm seeing what there is to see and no doubt buying entirely too many Legos and Burger King hamburgers.  It was a little hard watching them leave, partly because I worry about any of my kids when they’re away from me, no matter how capable the hands they’re in, and partly because I’m a little jealous of Olof getting to spend such a big chunk of one-on-one time with Tage.  Of all the kids, Tage is the least demanding (for now, at least) and the one most often lost in the shuffle, so I know it will be good for him to be the center of Dad’s attention for four whole days.  I can’t help wishing a little, though, that I had been the one to take him.  It would be a lot of fun to go exploring with him — I can’t wait to hear him tell all about his adventures when he gets home.

Edited to add: I just got this picture in my email.  Tage wanted to show me this tree and a leaf he saw in the park near their hotel — it looks like he’s enjoying himself just fine.

  1. You should take him next time! It’s probably good to have mother-son time sometime, as it is with father-daughter time once in a while too! Are they doing Junibacken and the usual children highlights?
