Looks like I’ve gone and got myself a case of what the Swedes call “sun eczema,” a sort of allergic reaction to UV rays, if I understand correctly.  I’ve got red, itchy, painful blisters all up and down my arms and I’m feeling pretty sorry for myself.

I couldn’t get the doctor’s office on the phone so this afternoon I popped into the pharmacy to see what they could offer me in the way of relief.  I left with a tube of cortisone cream and an admonition to stay out of the sun–or to at least wear long sleeves–until the rash clears up and my arms feel better.  The interwebs tell me that should happen within a few days, and I am so counting on that to be the case.
