Product placement

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Melanie wrote about the Smooth Away, a hair-removal device that touts itself as “easy, safe, and painless.” Ordinarily I wouldn’t be taken in by such a claim, but given that someone I know and trust had found it to be true, I decided to give it a go myself and bought a kit on eBay.

It arrived in the mail this afternoon and right away I set to buffing the unwanted hair from my legs (which I hadn’t shaved since last summer). Even after Melanie’s report of success I was a little skeptical, but hot damn, it worked! Like seriously worked, as well as or maybe even better than shaving, and it was easy, it was safe, and believe it or not, it was painless! After just a few minutes of buffing, my legs are smooth as the proverbial baby’s bottom. How cool is that?

  1. The only problem me and my sisters found is the little buffer…things? go “dull” rather quickly. But as proud as I am of my German heritage, I don’t appreciate the rather dark hair in…well…manly places. *cough cough* upper lip. It works so well and doesn’t hurt at all! It’s amazing! 🙂

  2. Hot damn! Glad it worked for you as well 🙂 I’m still buffing away – find it easy enough to pick up while I check up on my blogs and such.

  3. I can’t find them here. Yet. Which is strange since Wales is the land of the wooly hobbits. Simon is way more excited about this find than I am, I admit. I’ve shaved maybe twice this year. I don’t see what the big deal is. Maybe this is my hippie side? He isn’t as enthusiastic about my German heritage as I am, I guess.
