After putting it off almost until the last possible day, I finally got most of my Mosaic Minds work done for the upcoming issue. I’m still waiting to hear back from one author approving the editorial changes to her work, and for a couple of last-minute features, but at least I’ve cleared the biggest hurdles. I got myself in such a frenzy of words this afternoon that I even wrote up a feature article for the issue after this next one.
I really love this stage of the work, when we’re start to put the final product together and we can see how the issue is going to shape up and I start thinking Wow, we’re really doing this. I know I say this every time, but the upcoming issue is really fabulous — totally worth waiting an extra two weeks for.
It’s been especially fun for me lately, since my family has been getting involved. A couple of months ago my mom contributed a fiction piece and my husband submitted a great travel photo. In this next issue, my brother has a poem and I interviewed my sister-in-law for a feature article.
