Today is her name day, and while I usually make cupcakes for the kids on their name days, I think the babe will have to wait until next year, at least, for such a sugary treat.
It was actually this time last year that I discovered her name, seeing it for the first time on the Swedish calendar hanging in our living room. I hadn’t come across it before (and clearly I’m not alone, as an unexpectedly large number of Swedish people have asked how it’s pronounced — Americans’ uncertainty I understand; Swedes’ not so much), but I loved it at first sight. It took me a little longer to convince Olof, more because he was attached to Idun than anything else, but obviously I won him over in the end.
I posted this picture elsewhere yesterday, so some of you may have already seen it, but it’s absolutely worth a second look. I call it, “Plotting.”

Definitely looks like something is afoot. lol
