I found myself unexpectedly home alone this afternoon and almost didn’t know what to do with myself. The possibilities stretching before me seemed endless, but in the end I walked to the store for laundry soap (oh, the luxury of going to the store without the kids), started a load of laundry, and updated my geranium/pelargonium webpage. Had I been thinking ahead I would have started making the bread that we’re having tonight with our supper, but I didn’t get around to doing that until a half-hour or so ago. It’s lucky everyone here is used to having a late dinner.
I think I’ve decided to keep a flower page up, but at some point I’ll probably buy a more appropriate domain for it and use the current one for something different. Today I pepped up the look a little bit (a very little bit) and added pictures of the dozen or so varieties that I’ve gotten in the last week or two. I got six new ones today, two unrooted and four rooted and they all look very good. The four rooted are more like little plants than cuttings, their root systems are so well established. Not only are they gorgeous, but I got the four of them for 100:- (~$12.50), and that included postage. Not a bad deal at all. It more than makes up for the two I traded for last week that were so carelessly cut and packed that they’re not likely to make it (Rober’s Lemon Rose and PAC Melosilver) — at least it wasn’t a purchase so I didn’t lose more than the postage.
