Chock full o’ pox

After being out for over a week, Petra went back to school on Tuesday. Wednesday evening Tage and Brynja started looking pale and peaky, and by yesterday afternoon there was no doubt that they’d gotten a good dose of chicken pox germs from their sister. They’re both well and truly covered now, and will probably be home most of next week.

Yrsa was feverish and cranky last night, and I was hoping that she’d be spotty this morning, but no such luck yet. I really hope she gets it this round and we don’t have to wait another two weeks.

Lydia had chicken pox when we still lived in the States, so she’s safe from this outbreak, but she’s not entirely unscathed. What we initially thought was a burn on her chin — her dance program performed with torches last weekend and she said that a spark had his her face — turns out to be impetigo. I had it once in high school, and it was no fun at all. I think I might almost rather have chicken pox.
