L’eggo my … Lego

I’ve been on an eBay and Tradera frenzy for the past several weeks, and my mailbox is overflowing with the evidence.  Every day I find some new thing that I never knew I needed, and before too long it’s winging its way to me.  Right now I’m trying mightily to resist bidding on a Lego Superman figure — it costs about ten bucks (USD), which is way too much for a tiny piece of plastic, but man, would Tage love it or what?!

I’ve never been much of a Lego person, and Lydia wasn’t much  into them either, so it’s only now that Tage’s discovered them that I’ve had a chance to see what they’re all about.  I had no idea that there was such a market for custom-made pieces and figures, but after browsing the eBay listings for a little while, I’ve found everything from Lego Wonder Woman to Lego Spongebob, with plenty of Star Wars characters in between.  And we’re not just talking Luke and Han, either;  you can get Lego Lando, Lego Boba Fett, and even Lego Bib Fortuna!  Now that’s something worth writing home about!

Yesterday I happened across a set of Lego reproductions of the entire cast of the original Star Trek, and I had a very hard time passing that one up.  It was only by reminding myself how many Rörstrand coffee cups I could buy for that twenty dollars that I left the page without clicking the “Place Bid” button.

  1. I love legos! Used to both assemble according to the instructions and build houses and little villages even where I played house. We didn’t actually have proper walls but just made the countours of the house and the different rooms and build little miniature furniture.
