Last night Petra and Tage were sitting on the office floor playing with Brynja’s baby gym.  For one reason or another, playing turned to antagonizing one another, and before too long Tage hit Petra.  I braced myself for the wailing and screaming, and when it didn’t come I turned my chair away from the computer to see what was happening.

Instead of rolling around crying, Petra was standing in front of Tage, patting him on the head.  “Don’t hit me, Tage,” she said calmly and sweetly, ruffling his hair as she patted.  “It’s very naughty.”

Then she went into the living room and moved on to the next thing.

I wish I had a recording of it to share with you — you’d all be hysterical with the laughter that Olof and I had no choice at the time but to stifle as best we could.
