Lydia’s been after me for a year or more to buy a closet for her room–free-standing, rather than built-in, being the norm here for closets–and last week I finally found one that we both agreed would suit her needs. After a protracted period of emailing back and forth with the seller and nagging at my husband, I became the proud owner of this piece of furniture:
And the reason you see it sitting, cumbersome and unlovely, just inside my front door is that it turns out my eyes were much bigger than my stairwell. I guess the guest room is getting a new closet, and we’re back to square one for Lydia’s room. You should consider yourselves very lucky that it wasn’t you who had to break that news to her.
Can’t it be “deconstructed” and then put together again upstairs? You might not have to take it all the way apart.
Heh. I think the one I’ve got is an IKEA sucker that was like 800kr. Flat packed of course.
Poor Lydia! A closet is a wonderful thing!
We did try to take it apart, but it’s been glued as well as screwed together, and I don’t think we can take it apart without breaking it.
I ordered her one from Jysk today (too bad we don’t have an IKEA closer to where we are!), and we should have it next week. And this time I made sure it comes flat-packed! 😀
lol Lydia will appreciate it. A girl must have a closet.
Helena in the guest room will be happy! 🙂
