After waiting for more than three months, Helena got notification today–Sweden’s national day–that her application for Swedish citizenship was approved. Olof and I decided that a celebration was in order, so we made a little impromptu dinner party with German shepherd pie (one of Helena’s favorites), and a decadent chocolate cake for dessert. It’s actually a Swedish brand (Svan of Sweden), though I haven’t seen them in stores here. I bought this one on eBay and had it shipped from England. You can find some more information here 🙂
